OTHER WORKSHOPS
 The workshops are available to anyone who is not a current Salem Access Television member and wants to learn the art of editing video using either Apple's iMovie or Final Cut Pro software.
All workshops are held at SATV's fully equipped in-house facilities and are taught by an experienced video professional. They are designed to take you step by step through the process in an easy to understand language- no technical jargon! The workshops format combine’s instructor lectures with a hands-on experience. Students will need to share computers.

iMovie Basic Certification
IMovie non-linear editing software is mainly used to edit shorter, less complicated programs. Through a set of editing exercises you will become comfortable with editing techniques using iMovie. This class will cover basic editing, transitions, trimming techniques, audio adjustments and titles. We will also touch on titles. Our primary focus is gaining competency and comfort with this basic software package. Students also learn the basic process of creating a DVD using Apple's iDVD software. Participants learn to organize text, image, audio and video files into an attractive interface.

Session length: 8 hours (broken up into four 2 hour workshops)

Final Cut Pro Basic Certification
Through a set of simple editing exercises you will become comfortable with standard editing techniques using Final Cut Pro. This class will cover: basic editing, transitions, trimming techniques, audio adjustments and titles. Our primary focus is gaining competency and comfort with basic nonlinear editing techniques and vocabulary as they apply to cutting with Final Cut Pro. Students also learn the basic process of creating a DVD using Apple's iDVD software. Participants learn to organize text, image, audio and video files into an attractive interface.

Final Cut Pro: Advanced Tools and Techniques
This workshop builds on skills acquired in your Final Cut Pro Basic Certification. We will take an in-depth look at audio/video editing tools and techniques, titles and transparencies, graphics preparation for import, motion and special effects plug-ins, video capture and playback to tape, EDL import/export, file types, menu items, key commands and preferences. Students also learn the basic process of creating a DVD using Apple's iDVD software. Participants learn to organize text, image, audio and video files into an attractive interface.
